Unplayable
Double weave, stuffed with polyfill, 2020
38” by 20” by 2”
How do you win if you can’t even play? If you don’t know the rules?
This weaving is part of a series I have been working through over the last year, exploring the relationship between a family member’s experience with schizophrenia and the game of chess. I created this object, which is recognizable as a chess board, but by stuffing each square, the board becomes virtually unplayable.
