Kozo Fabric

Handmade kozo paper, handspun paper thread, 2020

This is an on going project. Over the last few months, I have been learning how to make Japanese kozo paper. I have been involved throughout the whole process, starting with the harvested kozo bark all the way through the production of the paper. From there, I have been learning how to make paper thread, using natural dyes to dye the thread, and weaving sample fabric. I am currently planning a larger weaving using only handmade thread.
